Useful information
- Cairo
- There are countless reasons to visit Egypt, but we can summarize it all by saying that Egypt is a country with a five-thousand-year history that dates back to the dawn of time and has fascinated travelers of every era. The cradle of ancient Egyptian civilization still captivates tourists and travelers from all over the world with its ruins, the Sphinx, the pyramids, and the archaeological sites!
- The climate in Egypt is generally warm and temperate, allowing you to pack a light suitcase without too many clothes. How to prepare for a trip to Egypt? The rule is a few but good quality items: a swimsuit, hiking shoes, light cotton shirts, and sunglasses are a must not forget!
- Arabic. The most widely spoken lingua franca is English, followed by French. Italian is very spoken in the Sharm-el-Sheikh area.
- Sunni Islam, with a Coptic Christian minority.
- Egypt, being ranked eighth in the list of the safest countries in the world, is considered a safe destination for travelers choosing this location! The major tourist attractions are well-guarded by security personnel and metal detectors, and generally, Egyptians are welcoming and kind to visitors! A good tip for any travel destination is to always be accompanied by a local guide who knows the place and its customs for a safer journey!
- For tourism purposes only: a paper or electronic identity card, valid for international travel, with a residual validity of more than six months. The paper identity card with validity extended by stamp on the back of the document is no longer accepted. In this case, we recommend using a passport to avoid being turned away at the border. Passport with a residual validity of at least six months from the date of arrival in the country. Two passport-sized photos are required to obtain a visa, which is requested from the local border authorities upon arrival in the country. We advise to obtain the photos before leaving Italy, as without them the entry visa is not issued.
- Hot – dry with a mild winter. The hottest month is July, with maximum temperatures often exceeding 40 degrees, while the coldest month is January, with temperatures ranging between 8 and 18 degrees.
- Probably during our winter, when temperatures are cool at night (around 10°C), but very pleasant during the day. To visit the cities, avoiding the summer heat, spring is preferable, between March and April, and autumn, between October and November. The period from November to February is excellent for desert areas: temperatures hover around 20°C or slightly more.
