Why travelling to Romania?
Nature: The forests of Transylvania, the peaks of the Carpathian Mountains and the Red Lake (really!) are just a few of the natural attractions awaiting you on your trip to Romania.
Culture: A good feast of garlic and we're ready to knock on the door of Bran Castle, the residence of the legendary Count Dracula. It's a must-visit on our travel itinerary!
Food: Where to go in Romania? Anywhere, as long as they serve hribi cu mamaliga (mushrooms and polenta), mici (the Romanian kebab!) and papanasi (a doughnut filled with sweet cheese, a popular Romanian dessert).
Convenience: All major Romanian destinations including Timisoara, Brasov, and Bacau, are easily accessible from Italy by plane, RV, motorcycle, bus. Traveling to Romania is convenient!
The best time to visit Romania
Romania offers warm summers perfect for exploring the countryside and mountains, while autumn is full of colors. Winters can be cold but beautiful in the snow-covered villages.

- Romania is one of the most affordable European destinations (but also one of the most surprising). At Tramundi, we offer travel packages for all budgets, with numerous inclusions and options for add-ons. Take a look at our special departure deals, you might find a trip to Romania at a reduced price!
- Regardless of the season you start in, we recommend packing comfortable clothing and walking shoes for miles and miles (we want to explore all of Romania, don't we?).
- The documents required for traveling to Romania from Italy that you need are either a valid ID card or a valid passport; the country is part of the EU but not the Schengen Area. This rule applies for stays of less than 90 days.
- Romania is located in the European Union but has not adopted the Euro. The local currency is the Leu or Ron.
- Leaving a tip is a good practice. Usually, 10 or 12% of the total price is left depending on how much the service was appreciated.
