Useful information
- During your trip to the Middle East, you will discover countless places to see and cultures to embrace! Let's start with Dubai, home of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and the spectacle of the Dancing Fountain. We continue our journey to Petra in Jordan, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Finally, we reach the historic village of Nizwa in Oman. Remember: by relying on a tour operator, safety will be a top priority in all these cities!
- The Middle East is currently divisible into 4 areas: Northeast Africa (Libya, Egypt), the Fertile Crescent (Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel), the Arabian Peninsula (Yemen, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman), and the Northern Tier (Turkey, Iran).
- The documentation requirements for entry can vary from destination to destination, therefore we invite our kind travelers to read the 'Important Information to Know' at the bottom of each tour page. Generally, tourists wishing to enter a Middle Eastern country must have a passport with a minimum remaining validity of at least six months from the time of arrival at the destination. Moreover, in some countries such as Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Oman, and others, a visa is required to cross the borders.
- Your luggage will need to be tailored once you've chosen the destination and the activities to do on-site, but here is a list of essentials that should never be missing from your suitcase for a trip to the Middle East. Cotton garments, cool and light; a raincoat and warm clothing for desert nights; a swimsuit for diving into the Red Sea; hiking shoes to keep up with our local guide; sunglasses to avoid being dazzled by Jerusalem's Dome of the Rock!
- Middle Eastern cuisine is a favorite among our travelers! Let's start our flavor journey with 'mezze', the Middle Eastern equivalent of Spanish tapas; eggplants, bell peppers, olives, cheeses, and the more you have, the more you add. We continue with the main courses: mansaf, a traditional Jordanian dish of rice, meat, and spices, ptitim, an Israeli couscous salad, and... the kebab, the real deal made in the Middle East!
