Why travelling to Mauritania?
Nature: Forget the city's chirping and get ready to wake up with sand between your toes amidst the Sahara desert dunes. Experience Africa in 360 degrees!
Culture: Chinguetti, Ouadane, Tichitt, and Oualata are the so-called “Desert Libraries”. A UNESCO heritage composed of ancient manuscripts all to be read.
Civilization: From a nomadic country to a symbol of African rights. In Mauritania, women's cooperatives have a strong voice, through which women are emancipated through work and sharing.
Sports: There are numerous activities to do among the desert dunes: 4x4 races and thrilling sandboarding descents. For the less adventurous? A camel ride towards the sunset.

Useful information
- Mauritania is a country in West Africa that borders Western Sahara to the north, Senegal to the southwest, Mali to the south and east, and Algeria to the northeast.
- Welcome! The main language in Mauritania is Arabic, while French, also an official national language, is the second language. Specific African idioms such as Wolof, Pulaar, and Soninke are also spoken. Ask your guide to teach you a few local words!
- Applying for a visa has never been so easy: the tourist visa for Mauritania can be obtained directly upon arrival at the border if you come by land, or once you have landed at Nouakchott airport. The visa usually has a validity of 30 days. Before leaving, check the website of the Farnesina and the latest news: traveling informed and safe is our motto.
- Gratitude is the first verb of every traveler. In Mauritania, you can do so by saying “Sukran”, which means “Thank you” in Arabic. The locals will greatly appreciate your embrace of their culture!
- Choose our tours to forget about this worry: travel with our guides, even from the airport to the hotel. Organization is our strong point: we plan all your transfers to ensure you travel safely. Just remember one thing before you leave: your passport!
- One last dive into the sea at Nouakchott before saying goodbye to city life. Following the trail of the nomadic caravans, we venture into the Sahara Desert, an endless expanse of sand to explore, grain by grain. On the horizon, the 'Desert Libraries' await us!
- Mauritania is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
- The capital and main city of Mauritania is Nouakchott, located on the Atlantic coast of the Sahara Desert.
