AMMAN

Welcome! Welcome to Jordan: cosmopolitan, contemporary, and rich in biblical history. Our journey begins today at 6:00 PM with an important welcome meeting. If time allows, we will admire the expansive views of Amman, explore the Jordan Museum which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls, or take a trip to the ruins of Jerash, an ancient fortified city that remarkably recalls life 2000 years ago.
There are no meals included on this day. Optional activities are not included. It is very important to attend the welcome meeting because this is the occasion when we will collect insurance data and other information. If you are delayed, please inform the travel agent or the hotel reception. Ask the reception or look for a note in the lobby for more information on where the meeting will take place. If you cannot arrange a flight that arrives in time, you might want to arrive a day earlier to be able to participate. If you wish to spend more time in Amman, we would be happy to book additional accommodation (subject to availability).

day 2

Petra ruins

PETRA

This morning, travel by minibus to Mount Nebo (about 1.5 hours). Mount Nebo is the place where the prophet Moses is believed to be buried and is said to have seen the "Promised Land". We explore this sanctuary, checking out the extraordinary mosaics inside its 4th-century church. Afterwards, take a 30-minute trip to the Dead Sea. Technically located below sea level, it's perfect for swimming and floating, and the mud at the bottom of the sea is said to have healing properties. Continue to the crusader castle of Kerak, situated in a commanding position on top of a cliff overlooking the city of Kerak and the valley below. We spend time exploring the seven-level fortress and learning about the legends of the 12th-century battles between crusaders and Muslim armies.
Breakfast included, lunch and dinner not provided. Transfers included. Optional activities not included. Today's tour includes stops at the Dead Sea, Mount Nebo, and Kerak Castle, but please note that entrance fees are not included. When swimming in the Dead Sea, towels are available for rent.

day 3

PETRA

Today we head to Petra, a magical wonder hand-carved into the rock! As one of the new seven wonders of the world, Petra offers the chance to have an authentic experience visiting this 6th-century B.C. masterpiece. We observe the intricate carvings and details and spend the afternoon exploring the site. There's the ancient Roman road, other temples, and ancient tombs, as well as the amphitheater carved into the rock to explore. For those feeling more adventurous, there's the option of a challenging hike up a flight of stairs to the smaller yet no less impressive monastery, taking about an hour.
Breakfast included, lunch and dinner on your own. Transfers included. Excursions included. Optional activities not included. One-day entrance ticket to Petra is included in your trip. Please note that when entering Petra as a group, a complimentary horse ride is included in the ticket price from the entrance point to the Siq. We advise against this option for safety reasons.

day 4

Wadi Rum desert with red sand

WADI RUM

We follow in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia with a short journey to the extraordinary desert landscape of Wadi Rum, a harsh lunar landscape framed by huge sandstone mountains (about 2 hours). Set off on a half-day jeep safari, traversing a sublime scenery and discovering traces of ancient civilizations seen in the numerous carved inscriptions found throughout the area, from pictograms to Talmudic, Nabatean, and Arabic texts. The most enduring monuments of Wadi Rum are those carved by nature: natural rock bridges, towering pink sand dunes, and scattered rocky peaks. We spend the night sleeping in a simple desert camp, with the choice of sleeping under a camel hair tent or under the starry night sky. We enjoy a delicious dinner cooked in a terracotta oven by your Bedouin hosts who live in the desert.
Breakfast and dinner included, lunch is on your own. Transfers included. Excursions included. The conditions of the camp are simple and basic but the hospitality of your hosts is legendary and you will treasure the memory of having slept under the sparkling night sky of the desert. Tonight, a mattress and blankets are provided. Please be aware that while the desert can be very hot during the day, it will still be cool at night and warm clothing and a sleeping bag are highly recommended when traveling outside of the summer months. Western-style toilet facilities are available.

day 5

canyon in the desert

NUWEIBA

Our tour continues! This morning, we leave Wadi Rum and head towards Aqaba (about 1 hour of travel). We will have some free time in Aqaba today and the opportunity to use day rooms to freshen up and store luggage. We transfer to the port aboard a comfortable ferry with air conditioning headed to Nuweiba (the journey will last between 2 and 5 hours depending on weather conditions).
Breakfast included, lunch and dinner on your own. Transfers included. Excursions included. The Aqaba–Nuweiba ferry can be rough, so take precautions in case of seasickness. The journey can take from 2.5 to over 5 hours, which means that arrival in Nuweiba can often occur after midnight. The ferry may experience delays, but your Egyptian group leader will meet you upon arrival regardless of delays. In case of adverse weather conditions, the ferry might be canceled altogether, in which case a land journey through Israel and the Palestinian Territories will be arranged. At the Aqaba ferry terminal, you will go through security checks and pay a departure tax of 10 JOD, keeping the receipt for the stamp. Onboard, take your passport to the counter in the center of the ferry where it will remain for the journey. Once arrived, an escort will take you and your passport to the arrival terminal, where you will go through immigration and then meet your Egyptian group leader.

day 6

town market with palm trees

DAHAB

It's a short drive from the peaceful tourist area of Dahab, our base for the next two nights. Dahab, which means 'gold' in Arabic, has evolved from a Bedouin fishing village into a popular tourist town, thanks to excellent conditions for activities such as diving, windsurfing, and rock climbing. However, the town has not lost its authenticity and the understated charm that has been attracting visitors since the '70s. The rest of the day is free for us to enjoy the many delicacies this place has to offer: coffee, seafood, or snorkeling in the Red Sea. There are also many laid-back bars and restaurants where you can sit and enjoy good local food and shisha!
There are no meals included on this day.

day 7

houses on the coast

DAHAB

Our tour continues with a free day at your disposal! In the morning, why not wear a mask and head to the Blue Hole for snorkeling at one of the best diving spots in the world? The area is named after an underwater sinkhole about 94 meters deep, with an arch in the coral reef at 54 meters – a challenge open only to highly experienced technical divers. Snorkeling enthusiasts can enjoy one of the most beautiful spots in the Red Sea here. Float on the surface and look down into an endless world of blue, then make your way around the "Bridge", where the visibility is always great and the pristine coral teems with all different kinds of colorful fish and marine life. After you've had your fill of snorkeling, head back to Dahab for an evening feast at a waterfront restaurant, or perhaps venture inland to Assalah.
Breakfast included, lunch and dinner not provided. Optional activities not included.

day 8

Egyptian sphinx

CAIRO

Today we will experience the contrast between the sea of Dahab and the wonderfully chaotic, always colorful capital Cairo. Transfer to the Sharm El Sheikh airport and a short flight to Cairo (about 1 hour). Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for the night. Cairo is one of the great ancient cities, and its history can be embodied by two of its imposing landmarks: the Pyramids of Giza and the Mosque of Mohammed Ali.
Breakfast included, lunch and dinner not provided. Optional activities not included.
