SANTORINI – IOS

Welcome to Greece! Meet our skipper and fellow shipmates at Cafe Spartakos at 13:00 at Athinios port, Santorini and take a ferry to Ios where we will board our yacht. We'll have some free time today to enjoy all that Ios has to offer, including the beautiful nearby sandy beaches or check out the shops, restaurants, and bars in Hora.
It is very important that you attend the welcome meeting as we will be collecting insurance details and next of kin information at this time. Your skipper will collect the common fund of 110 EUR and will discuss shopping to buy supplies for your group trip. If you have dietary requirements, please make sure to notify us at the time of booking so we can accommodate you. If you are arriving today, please allow at least 1 hour from your arrival time at Santorini airport to reach Athinios port. The beauty of sailing is that each day is unique and, while we have a destination to reach, if the weather changes or something catches the group's fancy, we are flexible with the day's itinerary. The itinerary may be subject to changes depending on weather conditions. Your skipper will make the final call to ensure your safety at all times. When the ferry is not operational, your skipper will arrange a private sea transfer from Santorini to Oia.

AMORGOS

4 hours
We sail towards the rugged island of Amorgos. This is the stunning location of Luc Besson's film, "The Big Blue". We stop for a swim at the Paradisi beach before continuing along the coast to the port of Katapola. The restaurants, cafes, and bars on the waterfront are an excellent place to relax and enjoy the view of the classic Cycladic windmills and an ancient Venetian castle. You could explore the ancient Minoan settlement or drive up to the spectacular 11th-century monastery, Moni Hozoviotissis, for a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea. The village of Hora, perched high on the rocky mountain, is also worth a visit. Wander through the labyrinth of stone alleys and Byzantine churches that surround the town square. The Amorgos Archaeological Collection is housed near the Gavros Tower.

SMALL CYCLADES

4 hours
We set sail and head towards the Lesser Cyclades this morning. This group of islands boasts picturesque fishing villages, clear waters, and beautiful beaches. While all these islands once hosted communities in ancient times, the Middle Ages saw them reduced to only pirates and goats. Today, only Koufonisia, Iraklia, Schinoussa, and Donoussa have permanent residents, with the largest population said to be around 300. In the evening, perhaps try the fresh fish at a seaside tavern and sit down to enjoy the peace of the Mediterranean.

day 4

Nassau Peninsula

NAXOS

Today we head towards the largest island of the Cyclades, Naxos. There's the option to take a day trip around the island, but you can always stay back and relax. The best beaches on the island are located to the south, where you can also engage in water sports. Perhaps take a hike up to the old Roman Catholic quarter of Kastro, where winding alleys, palaces, and churches all retain a medieval atmosphere. While you're here, stop by the Roman Catholic cathedral in the square and the nearby Archaeological Museum housed in the former Jesuit School of Commerce. Take an optional trip into the countryside to observe rural life, see one of the oldest temples in Greece, and have lunch on the hills at a family tavern. Savor the local beer with a shot of Kitron (best described as a lemon liqueur). In the evening, indulge in the lively nightlife of Hora.

day 5

Syros

SYROS

4 hours
Today we sail towards the island of Syros taking a swim along the bay of Gaidaros. Known for its relaxed atmosphere and neoclassical architecture, Syros' neutral role during the Greek revolution made it a safe haven for the persecuted. We take a bus up the hill to the fortress-like village of Ano Syros and explore the city's stone arches and narrow alleys (the Aegean views are breathtaking from up here). We taste the authentic Greek cuisine in the capital of Syros.

day 6

city of Syros

SYROS

Our journey to discover the Cyclades continues with another day spent in Syros exploring its wonders!

day 7

MYKONOS

3 hours
Our tour continues with a short cruise to an island full of beauty and glamour, Mykonos. With a history of about 5000 years, it is said that the island was named after Apollo's nephew. It was also the mythological setting for a deadly battle between Zeus and the Titans, their gigantic petrified bodies forming the rocks of the island. Browse through the city's galleries and chic boutiques, examine the unique architecture of the Church of Panagia Paraportiani or relax on one of the island's white beaches. In the evening, perhaps stroll to Little Venice, where colorful wooden balconies hang precariously over the sea: the perfect spot to sit with a cocktail and enjoy a sunset over the Aegean. Later, join in the fun of Mykonos' nightlife.

day 8

crystal clear sea

SIFNOS

We set sail for the island of Sifnos, known for its high-quality pottery production. The island's barren hills hide fertile valleys of wild juniper, terraced olive groves, and almond trees. The beach at the main port of Kamares is one of the island's finest and the perfect spot for swimming. We stroll among the white houses, churches, and chapels of the village of Apollonia, which is the capital of Sifnos. The Folk Art Museum displays old photographs, textiles, costumes, and pottery. We climb up to the headland to enjoy the panoramic view of the ocean and to see the medieval architecture of the Kastro fortress.

day 9

little island

FOLEGANDROS

Sail towards the tranquil island of Folegandros this morning. Named after the son of a former king of Crete, Folegandros has a long history of colonization and occupation like many of the surrounding islands. In the port of Karavostasis, the pebble beach or a seaside tavern are nice places to relax. Let's take a walk in the island's capital, Hora, one of the oldest villages in the Cyclades. The area inside and around the Kastro is the most picturesque. In the evening, we climb the hill to the charming Church of the Panagia, an excellent vantage point to watch the sunset.

SANTORINI

Say goodbye to the open sea as you take the ferry from Ios to Santorini to return to Athinios port just before 12:00. With no other activities scheduled for today, our adventure ends upon arrival at Santorini. Our sailing tour of the Cyclades islands concludes here, until the next adventure!
Please note that when the ferry is not operating, the skipper will arrange a private sea transfer. If you wish to spend more time in Santorini, we would be happy to arrange additional onshore accommodations (subject to availability). Athinios port, Santorini is about a 30-minute drive from Santorini airport. Please allow enough time for this transfer and check-in schedule if you are departing today. If you plan to leave today, we kindly ask you not to book a flight before 4:00 PM in case the boat's arrival is delayed due to weather conditions.

Important things to know

Trip features

Journey open to travelers with no age restrictions.
You will travel with travelers from other agencies: the larger the group, the more fun it is!
The trip is organized by tour operators and local guides, selected by Tramundi for you.

General trip information

All requests must be reconfirmed as the availability of cabins changes very quickly from day to day. Please contact us by email or phone to request information and check seat availability.
Minors admitted from the age of 15 and older, accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.
Remember to bring a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into the country.
We ask you to report any food allergies and/or intolerances immediately after booking.
The itinerary may undergo some changes before and/or during the trip.
On this trip, it is mandatory to contribute a fee of 110 euros per person. The common fund is an on-site payment made into a central pool managed by the travelers. It helps to finance breakfast and lunch on the boat and other small items such as ice, water, snacks, and drinks. Travelers are responsible for preparing meals on board and for grocery shopping at the port, where supermarkets are often very close to the mooring. The amounts for t-shirts are subject to change to reflect local price increases. On day 1, the skipper will explain how to manage the common fund (either by you or your travel companions) and it will be collected upon arrival at the welcome meeting or in stages during the trip.
Since most of this journey takes place on a sailing boat, you will need to be comfortable moving around the ship, including using the stairs. That said, sea legs come naturally to some but not so much to others. Most of our departures occur during the high season, when the seas are calmer. The ship will experience some rolling and pitching in rough conditions, however, all our ships are equipped with stabilizers to minimize movement. There will be seasickness tablets available on board and your crew will do everything possible to minimize any discomfort.
A Zodiac is used to transport passengers from the boat to the shore, with landings occurring at docks (dry landings) and on beaches (wet landings). Zodiacs can sometimes be uncomfortable to get on and off, but a sense of humor and a positive attitude are all you need.
This is an adventure aboard a real yacht, which means that the living spaces, cabins, bathrooms, and showers must be shared with other passengers. The sleeping area can be quite compact, but you will spend most of your time outside in the open air.
Time on the water also means time in the sun. Remember to pack sunscreen, such as sunblock and a hat, and to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Smooth sailing depends on the weather conditions, so there might be last-minute changes to the itinerary if the weather turns unfavorable. If changes are made, you can rely on your experienced skipper to choose an alternative route or activity.
Due to the size of the yachts, sound travels easily from one end to the other and can wake up your travel companions.
