Bali Secrets and Gili

Our arrival in Bali is expected in the evening. Upon exiting the airport, we will find a representative waiting for us, who will accompany us to our hotel in Kuta. After check-in, we can relax and enjoy our first night in Bali.

We will have breakfast at the hotel and leave from Kuta. The day will start with our transfer from Kuta to Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali. During the transfer, we will stop at the legendary Tanah Lot temple, dedicated to the sea deities, located on a rock surrounded by the Indian Ocean which, during high tide, becomes an islet enveloped by the waves. After our arrival in Ubud, we will head to the Ubud Monkey Forest, a natural sanctuary inhabited by wild monkeys, where, walking among the trees, we will observe the monkeys playing, eating, and resting. At the end of the visit, we will check into our hotel in Ubud and have the rest of the day free to explore the city. Here are some suggestions for spending our free time with other possible visits, for example, the Ubud Royal Palace, located in a tropical garden, the traditional Ubud market, full of local products and handicrafts, and the Campuhan Ridge Walk, a scenic trail that offers breathtaking views of the Ubud countryside, all with free admission.

After a delightful breakfast at the hotel, we will immerse ourselves in the history and culture of Bali, an island wrapped in charm and mystery. Our first stop will be the Kehen Temple, an ancient Hindu complex dating back to the 11th century, located on a hill which we will reach by climbing 38 steps decorated with statues of mythical animals and Balinese folkloric figures. We will admire the temple walls, embellished with porcelain plates that testify to the ancient links between the Balinese kingdom and China. We will then proceed to Tirta Empul, a temple famous for its holy springs, where Balinese people immerse themselves to perform purification rituals, fed by a waterfall that emerges from a rock carved in the shape of a lingam, a symbol of Shiva. Our last visit will be to Goa Gajah, known as the Elephant Cave, a site that houses a meditation cave with stone idols wrapped in colorful fabrics and niches that once housed meditating priests. At the end of this intense day, we will return to our hotel in Ubud for an evening of free relaxation.

After a delightful breakfast, we will prepare for an extraordinary adventure to discover the authentic soul of Bali. Leaving behind the beauty of Ubud, we will head to the east of the island, towards the picturesque Sidemen, a place where time seems to flow at the peaceful rhythm of nature. Here, we will immerse ourselves in the deep cultural roots and traditions of Bali, visiting a local home where we will witness the Balinese weaving techniques, a true dance of colors and skills. Then, we will venture among the expanses of rice fields, where the vibrant greens and the fresh air will envelop us. We will meet the local farmers, learning the secrets of rice cultivation. We will participate in workshops on how to prepare traditional Balinese dishes, create sacred offerings, savor the local liquor, and write in Balinese Sanskrit. A traditional Balinese lunch awaits us, offering a feast for the senses in a setting with panoramic views. In the afternoon, we will visit Kerta Gosa, an 18th-century palace with paintings that tell stories rich in meaning. We will conclude the day in Candidasa, with a check-in at our hotel for a night of well-deserved rest.

We begin our journey by exploring the northeast of Bali, an experience filled with natural beauty and cultural heritage. Our first stop is at Lempuyang, a historic temple of significant importance on the island, widely photographed and known as 'The Gates of Heaven'. From here, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Mount Agung, while the temple's name, which means 'divine light', evokes a deep sense of sacredness. The temple spans three levels, and from the first level, you can observe Mount Agung framed between the two traditional Balinese gates of the temple, almost like a passage to the sky. To reach the highest level, we will have to climb about 1,700 steps. Our next stop is the Tirta Gangga Palace, also known as the 'Royal Water Gardens' for its beautiful gardens, abundant fountains, decorative statues, and spectacular pools. Built in 1946, this place was the residence of the royal family of Karangasem. You will have some free time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, we will head towards Taman Ujung, the 'water palace', a twin of Tirta Gangga and also built by the late king of Karangasem. The complex features large pools and historic buildings, all set against the backdrop of the majestic Mount Agung and the eastern coast. Finally, we will return to our hotel in Candidasa where you can relax and rest after a day full of adventures and discoveries.

After a delightful breakfast at the hotel, we will set off towards the charming port of Padang Bay. From there, a quick boat ride will take us to the wonderful island of Gili Trawangan. For those wishing to add a unique touch to their journey, there's the option of a Cidomo (not included and to be arranged on site), a charming horse-drawn carriage, which will allow us to reach the resort effortlessly, immersing ourselves in the island's tranquility. Gili Trawangan, with its white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, is ready to welcome us for an experience of pure relaxation and enchantment.

After a delightful breakfast at the resort, you will check out and set sail from Gili Trawangan. Your boat will take you to the port of Padangbai, located on the picturesque east coast of Bali, a journey that lasts about 2 and a half hours. Once you arrive in Bali, you will be greeted by our driver who will take you to your hotel in Kuta. After checking in, you will have the evening free to do some last-minute shopping or to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the beach resort.

The morning will start with breakfast at our hotel, as we get ready for check-out. In the late afternoon, we will transfer to the airport with plenty of time before our return flight.

The final part of the journey will conclude with meals and overnight stay on the flight. We will arrive in Italy in the afternoon, following our flight itinerary.
