mount etna

ETNA - TAORMINA

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel. Today, you have the freedom to explore Etna & Taormina. We suggest starting your morning with a drive to Mt. Etna, Sicily's highest peak and Europe's most active volcano. The surrounding territory forms the 'Park of Etna', one of Italy's largest protected areas. You'll be amazed by the diverse vegetation and landscapes we'll encounter on our way to the 'Silvestri Craters' (around 1,900 mt). From this point, you can choose to continue the adventure by jeep. Next, we'll head to Castiglione di Sicilia to visit the Patria winery for a wine tasting session. The 60-minute visit includes a tour through the Arena Pàlici, an ancient lava stone cave, the winemaking area, and the Bottaia with its old Slavonian oak wood barrels. In the tasting room, you'll enjoy a selection of local products such as Etna DOP, Sicilia DOP, and Spumanti, accompanied by homemade bread, Nebrodi salami, local cheeses, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, and Bio oil from Mount Etna. You can then choose to return to the hotel or visit Taormina, located on a plateau on the slopes of the steeply dropping Monte Tauro, overlooking the Ionian coast from Capo Sant’Andrea to Capo Taormina. You may also visit the Greek-Roman theatre, Sicily's 2nd largest classical theatre. We'll then return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Acireale/Mascali. Please note, due to organizational issues, the wine tasting at the Patria winery may take place at the Albatros Beach hotel in Letojanni at 06:00 pm.
Breakfast included. Free lunch and dinner. Excursions not included. Wine tasting included. Transfers with your own rental car included.

day 3

square in syracuse

SYRACUSE - MODICA - NOTO

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, then set off on an adventure to Modica & Noto. Here's a suggested itinerary: Post breakfast, head to Syracuse, a fascinating archaeological site on the island. Explore the Archeological Park (at an additional cost), the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysus, and the Cave of the Cordari. Don't miss the Island of Ortigia, the city's ancient heart, with its breathtaking cathedral (entrance tickets not included) and quaint alleys. Next, uncover the lesser-known side of Sicily, marked by the grandeur of Baroque architecture, numerous UNESCO sites, and the backdrop of the popular TV series, 'Il Commissario Montalbano'. Begin your exploration from the historic center of Ragusa, 'Ibla', renowned for its numerous baroque churches and palaces, and the distinctive domes that overlook the city. Ragusa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, boasts 18 sites of global significance. Proceed to Modica, another UNESCO World Heritage city, famous for its chocolate and stunning buildings. We recommend strolling through the alleys, gradually ascending until you reach the hill's top for a spectacular city view. Continue your journey to Noto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002. Finally, drive to Ragusa for an overnight stay.
Breakfast included. Free lunch and dinner. Excursions not included. Transfers with your own rental car included.

day 4

beach bar in marzamemi

CAPO PASSERO - MARZAMEMI

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel. Today, you have the freedom to explore Capo Passero & Marzamemi. We suggest a scenic drive to Porto Palo Capo Passero and Marzamemi. Capo Passero Island, a natural gem, boasts sandy areas easily accessible on foot or by a quaint fishing boat that ferries people to and from the island all day. Next, head to Marzamemi, a charming seaside village renowned for its tuna farms. Stroll through the village streets, taking in the sight of fishermen's houses nestled by the sea. Pause for a while between Marzamemi and Pachino, known as 'the land of good wine', for a visit to the Ramaddini cellars. Here, you'll enjoy a FR FLOWERS tasting of 3 wines from the Linea Rama', Linea Bollicine or Linea Note Nere, complemented by bread, oil, mosto, and fried broad beans and chickpeas. Continue your journey to Ragusa to marvel at the historic center of Ragusa Ibla, marked by numerous Baroque-style churches and palaces, and characteristic domes that tower over the city. day 6

boats in favignana island

FAVIGNANA - PALERMO

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at our hotel. We recommend exploring either the Island of Favignana or the city of Palermo today. If you choose Favignana, head to Trapani/Marsala port and set sail to this butterfly-shaped island, a paradise for beach and diving enthusiasts. Hop on the charming Egadilandia, a tourist train that tours the island's coastal roads and streets. Don't miss the former Stabilimento Florio, a transformed canned tuna factory now serving as a museum. A challenging hike up the hill will reward you with the ruins of the Castle of Santa Caterina and the enchanting Grotto of lovers. Consider renting an e-bike or scooter to explore the island's hidden gems like the Undergound gardens, crystal clear sea, heavenly beaches, and breathtaking landscapes at your own pace. Return to the hotel for a restful overnight stay.
Alternatively, if you opt for Palermo, drive to this city that's brimming with priceless treasures, some of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Begin your journey at the Cathedral, housing the tombs of Emperor Frederick II and some Norman kings. Stroll through a beautiful palm garden towards the Royal Palace, the Sicilian kings' residence from the 11th to the 19th century. Here, marvel at the rooms' diverse styles and the Palatine Chapel's golden mosaics. As you traverse Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Via Maqueda, you'll encounter the 'Quattro Canti', an octagonal square adorned with beautiful 17th-century buildings. Experience the vibrant 'Il Capo' market, reminiscent of an Arab souk, where locals shop for food amidst a riot of colors, flavors, and aromas. Lastly, visit the Teatro Massimo before heading to Monreale, a village 7 km away from Palermo. Monreale is renowned for its stunning Arab-Norman style Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its 3,500 square meters of polychrome mosaics on a golden background. Near the cathedral, you can visit the cloister, with its 80 pairs of unique twin columns. Return to Marsala for an overnight stay.
