day 1

Marrakech square

MARRAKECH

We welcome you to Morocco. Your adventure begins with a key meeting at 6:00 PM at your hotel. After getting to know your fellow travelers and group leader, you might want to take the opportunity to explore the city's main square, Djemaa el-Fna, get lost in the spice souks or bazaars, or participate in optional activities, contact us for more information. For dinner, we recommend trying the authentic street food, but be careful, the eggplant fritters are irresistible and the aroma of barbecues scattered throughout the city will make your mouth water (even if you've just finished eating!). Marrakech is also famous for its trendy rooftop bars, so why not visit one of our favorite spots and enjoy a cocktail with a view.
Free dinner. Transfers included. Optional activities not included. It is important that you attend the welcome meeting, as we will collect insurance details and various information at this time. If you are going to be late, please inform your travel agent or the hotel reception. Ask the reception or look for a note in the lobby for more information on where the meeting will take place.

day 2

Todra Gorge

TODRA GORGE

After enjoying breakfast, we will set off on our journey towards the fascinating Todra Gorges. It will be a day full of travel, so don't forget to bring a book with you. At some point, we will find ourselves in front of a vivid green carpet that might seem so extraordinary as to make us believe we are in a dream. This valley is truly breathtaking, with its palm trees and the picturesque mud-brick villages. We will arrive at our hotel located at the top of the valley, where we will have time to relax, recharge, and enjoy some coolness in the shade of the palm trees. We might also take a short walk before enjoying a dinner included with our group. Let's prepare for the night and rest well, ready for an exciting hike the following day.
Breakfast and dinner included. Lunch not included. Transfers included. Excursions included. Today's travel time will be around 8 hours.

day 3

desert

TODRA GORGE - SAHARA DESERT

After breakfast, embark on a hike through the shaded palm trees of the Todra Valley for a couple of hours, admiring the picturesque scenery of the gorge in front of you. At the end of your adventure, you will be rewarded with a homemade lunch served in the courtyard of a local family. You will be offered dates, nuts, tea, and a delicious meal to recharge after your walk. Then, head towards the Sahara. After a few hours of transit, get ready for a unique experience in a sun-kissed desert. Your means of transportation? The camel, of course! Prepare for a spectacular sunset as you travel through the vast expanse of sand and return to your private camp for an overnight stay in the middle of the sand dunes. At the camp, you will have a thin mattress, blankets, and sheets (and an inn not too far away, just in case). Make sure to bring a sleeping sheet and a warm sweater if it's winter (you would be surprised at how cold it can get). Sleep under the stars and experience an extraordinary 'I am so far from home' moment.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Transfers included. Excursions included.

day 4

panorama of Ait Benhaddou

AIT BENHADDOU

Don't forget to set the alarm for this morning, we will get up much before dawn. We'll climb a nearby sand dune to watch the sunrise - an experience worth waking up early for - then we'll return to camp for breakfast, gather the rest of our gear, and head towards Ait Benhaddou. We'll make a stop to enjoy the best mint tea in the world at the Tawesna Association. The profits here go to support women's projects in the village of Ait Benhaddou. This experience in the inclusive female teahouse is more than just a cup of tea - it's an opportunity to discover a culture and contribute to the economic inclusion of women and responsible tourism. Later, we explore the medieval mud-brick city of Ait Benhaddou. If it looks familiar, it's probably because you've seen it in the movies. We stroll through the old streets and climb up to the fortress for a view over the Old City. We can also visit one of the most interesting houses in the Kasbah for a small fee. We will spend the night just outside the walls.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Transfers included. Excursions included. Today's travel time will be around 6 hours.

day 5

aroumd

AROUMD

This morning, we will take you on a private journey to Imlil, located high in the Atlas Mountains. We highly recommend choosing a seat near the window to enjoy the breathtaking views along the way. Imlil is a charming village at the foot of the highest peak in North Africa. Once we arrive, we will start a scenic hike. As we make our way to the mountain village of Aroumd, we will have the opportunity to admire the landscape, the rolling mountains, and the lush vegetation. Tonight, we will stay in a cozy gite run by a local family. The local Amazigh are known for their hospitality, so it will be a great opportunity to share a meal with them and learn more about their culture.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Transfers included. Excursions included. Today's travel time will be around 5.5 hours. The services offered by the host families are shared (both the bathroom and the sleeping area), but they are welcoming, comfortable, and provide a much more memorable experience than a hotel.

day 6

aroumd

AROUMD

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxing morning in the mountains. Today, you will pass through Imlil on a day hike, exploring the landscape of peaks and surrounding villages. Cross bursts of green and stop to admire the Imlil waterfall, where you can get close to the falls. Walk at your own pace, enjoying the solitude away from the tourist crowds of the major cities. Enjoy a packed lunch along the way and return to your homestay for a relaxed and free afternoon and a group dinner.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Transfers included. Excursions included.

day 7

marrakech

MARRAKECH

We bid farewell to the mountains and return to Marrakech. Once there, you will have a whole day to yourselves to dive into the lively souks. If you wish, you can discover courtyards filled with the scent of orange blossoms and the numerous halls and rooms that make up the Bahia Palace (optional activities). This villa was built in 1866 for a former slave who rose to a position of power in the government. Why not opt for a bike ride, a quad adventure, or indulge in a luxurious hammam and spa? You might also want to visit Le Jardin Secret, a traditional garden of the medina renovated for the 21st century. Once owned by a powerful local leader U-Bihi, who was poisoned by Mohammed IV, this historic riad boasts one of the most enchanting courtyards in Marrakech, combining exotic Islamic gardens and traditional ones fed by the original khettara (an underground irrigation system). In the evening, you will surely be drawn back to Djemaa el-Fna for one last night out.
Breakfast included. Lunch and dinner not provided. Transfers included. Optional activities not included. Today's travel time will be around 2 hours.

day 8

arch of a mosque in Marrakech

After enjoying breakfast, we have not planned any further activities and your journey ends here. Why not try becoming a true Moroccan chef with a cooking class from Urban Adventure, led by a local? Explore the souks of Marrakech to buy the freshest ingredients, then learn the secrets to preparing an authentic tagine in a typical riad setting, while getting to know the family that hosts you. If you wish to extend your stay, please contact us for more information.

Trip features

This tour is suitable for people aged between 18 and 35.

General trip information

Remember to bring a valid passport with an expiration date not less than 6 months at the time of entry into the country.
The climate in Morocco can be extreme: summers are very hot, so bring sunscreen and drink plenty of water. At night, temperatures can drop significantly, so it is advisable to have warm clothes, especially when camping, which can be cold at the beginning and end of the season.
In 2025, Ramadan will take place from March 1st to March 30th. Traveling during this holy month can offer a unique cultural experience, but some services such as restaurants and bars may not be available during the day, and travel and events could be disrupted. Your guide will adjust the itinerary accordingly, so please consider carefully before booking for this period.
Visiting the Todra Gorge and the Aroumd guesthouse will take you to remote areas of Morocco. These places are ideal for exploring on foot, but require a moderate level of fitness and appropriate footwear.
We have carefully selected the accommodations and chosen the best possible hotels in line with the Intrepid travel style. However, please note that the service and accommodations in Morocco may differ from Western standards.
