historic center of Catania

CATANIA

Welcome to Catania, in Sicily! We will meet directly at the hosting hotel where we will be greeted by the local guide and travel companions for a brief briefing, free dinner, and overnight stay at the hotel.
Dinner not included. Airport transfer not provided; contact us to request the service.

day 2

archaeological excavations in Syracuse, Sicily

SYRACUSE – NOTO – RAGUSA

Our journey in Sicily begins, with the first stop at Syracuse. Here we visit the Neapolis Archaeological Park which hosts the Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Latomie of Paradise and the Ear of Dionysius. The morning continues with a stroll through the historic center of Ortigia, from Piazza Duomo to the Cathedral, all the way to the Arethusa Spring.
After lunch, we set off for Noto, the capital of Sicilian Baroque. We stroll through the elegant streets of the center, among historic buildings and monasteries, before visiting the noble residence Palazzo Nicolaci Villadorata. We then have some free time available to continue exploring at our leisure before reaching Ragusa in the evening.

day 3

RAGUSA IBLA – MODICA – PIAZZA ARMERINA – AGRIGENTO

This morning we explore Ragusa Ibla, the cradle of late Sicilian Baroque, from the churches to the Iblean garden. Yes, right here is where the famous TV series Inspector Montalbano takes place!
We then proceed to Modica where we are welcomed by Sabadì, one of the most renowned chocolate shops in the small town of Ibla. Next, we visit Palazzo Castro Polara Grimaldi, which offers us a unique view of the city. We then look forward to a tasting of typical dishes in the Orti di San Giorgio.
In the afternoon we reach Piazza Armerina, where we visit the Villa Romana del Casale. At the end of the tour, we set off towards Agrigento.

day 4

Valley of the Temples in Agrigento

AGRIGENTO – MARSALA – SALT PANS – PALERMO

This morning we are visiting one of the highlights of our tour: the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the Temple of Juno to the Temple of Concordia, all the way to the Temple of Hercules; we are walking through ancient Akragas!
Our next stop is Marsala, a city that gives its name to the famous fortified wine. We will take part in a guided tour of the historic Cantine Florio, which will host us for a tasting of local wines accompanied by traditional products.
We set off again traveling the Salt Road, admiring the Stagnone islands and the salt pans on the horizon; it is one of the oldest salt extraction industries in the world! In the evening, we reach Palermo.

day 5

MONREALE – PALERMO

The morning is dedicated to discovering Monreale: from the Arab-Norman Cathedral, known as the eighth wonder of the world, to the Cloister, a masterpiece of inlay art.
Then we return to Palermo, for a guided walk through the city streets: the Cathedral, the Martorana Church, the Palatine Chapel and a gastronomic surprise at a historic focaccia bakery. After lunch, we continue our journey: the Teatro Massimo, the Pretoria Square Fountain and the Kalsa Quarter.

day 6

FAVIGNANA

This morning a private transfer takes us to the port of Trapani. Here we board a hydrofoil bound for Favignana, the butterfly-shaped island of the Aegadian Islands. In the afternoon, we have some free time at our disposal.
Breakfast and dinner included; lunch not included. Transfers included. From day 6 to day 10: private tour (other participants may be present) to the Egadi Islands without a guide.

FAVIGNANA

Ready to spread your wings on the butterfly-shaped Egadi Islands? This morning we head to the tourist port of Favignana to circumnavigate the island: from the history of the Tonnara Florio to a dive at Cala Rossa, the first stop of the boat tour; next, we reach Bue Marino, Cala Azzurra and Lido Burrone, where we enjoy another swim. Once we arrive at Marasolo/Preveto, lunch on board and free time available for swimming and snorkeling. In the afternoon, we set off again towards Cala Rotonda and Cala del Pozzo, for one last swim and a snack of coffee and pastries, before returning to Favignana.

day 8

FAVIGNANA

Today we have a free day at our disposal to explore the island of Favignana at our leisure. A stroll around the small port of Favignana or a dip in the sea at the many hidden coves (which we discovered yesterday thanks to the boat tour!). There will also be an opportunity to participate in an optional boat excursion to Levanzo with stops at Faraglione, Cala Fredda and Cala Minnola, returning in the late afternoon to Favignana.

day 9

Favignana Sea Egadi Sicily

FAVIGNANA – TRAPANI

Free morning available to embark for Trapani. Once at the destination, we have the afternoon free at our disposal: stroll through the historic center or visit the Coral Museum.
Breakfast and dinner included, lunch not included. Transfers included. From day 6 to day 10: private tour (other participants may be present) to the Egadi Islands without a guide.
