Welcome to South Africa, in Johannesburg! Transfer from the airport to our hotel. Day at leisure. Meeting at 19:00 at the hotel reception with the guide for the tour briefing and to meet the other travelers.

JOHANNESBURG – MPUMALANGA

We're heading to Mpumalanga, crossing the lush Lowveld along the Panorama Route through Graskop. We visit the scenic sites of the Blyde River Canyon, God's Window, and Bourke's Luck Potholes before making our way towards Hazyview.

MPUMALANGA

Our journey in South Africa continues with a morning safari in Kruger Park with a packed breakfast. Kruger is one of the largest national parks in the world, home to the Big 5 (rhinoceroses, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and elephants), as well as a prolific birdlife and other wildlife. The afternoon is free for leisure.

MPUMALANGA – ESWATINI

This morning, I travel to Eswatini, an independent kingdom within the borders of South Africa. We visit the village of a chief and experience the traditional Swazi culture.

ESWATINI – ST. LUCIA

After breakfast, we travel through Eswatini, visiting Ngwenya Glass and the Swazi Candles Center, where you will experience local artisans creating wonderfully handmade objects and colorful candles. We continue to Zululand, our journey goes on in the Kingdom of KwaZulu-Natal, where ancient traditions and modern cultures have merged into a vibrant society. We arrive this afternoon in the Imfolozi area for an overnight stay.

ST. LUCIA – DURBAN

Enjoy an optional morning safari (at your own expense) on an open vehicle in the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve before departing for Durban. An orientation tour will introduce you to this multicultural seaside city of Durban before you arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon.

DURBAN – DRAKENSBERG

Today we head towards the majestic mountains of the Drakensberg southern range. We visit the Howick Falls, continuing along the Southern Midlands Meander Route to reach our hotel. Free time available.

Enjoy a full day at your leisure by immersing yourself in the surroundings of the magnificent Southern Drakensberg mountains or enjoy the numerous recreational activities at the resort.

DRAKENSBERG – CAPE COAST

This morning we continue south towards the Eastern Cape. Along the way, we observe the traditional lifestyle in the former homeland known as Transkei and stop for an independent lunch outside the capital of Umtata. We continue traveling past Nelson Mandela's home, arriving in the late afternoon at Chintsa East, on the pristine Eastern Cape coast.

CAPE COAST – TSITSIKAMMA

Wake up to the sound of crashing waves and spend the morning at your leisure to relax on the miles-long beach or explore the dense indigenous coastal forest for birdwatching. We then head south towards the Tsitsikamma forest.

TSITSIKAMMA – KNYSNA

Our tour of South Africa continues with a visit to the Tsitsikamma forest. A short walk to the mouth of the Storms River offers magnificent views of the gorge and the river below. Arrival in Knysna in the mid-afternoon.

KNYSNA – OUDTSHOORN – MOSSEL BAY

We travel through the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, the center of the world's ostrich farming industry. We visit an ostrich farm for a guided tour, before exploring the limestone caves of the Cango Caverns, one of the great natural wonders of the world. Overnight in Mossel Bay.

MOSSEL BAY – CAPE TOWN

Today's journey takes us to Cape Town, with a stop at Albertinia to visit a famous Cape Aloe factory. We cross Swellendam, Worcester and pass through the Huguenot Tunnel before arriving in Cape Town in the late afternoon.
